Cabinet Member for Street Scene and Green Spaces – Councillor Marshall

 

Councillor Marshall was appointed to Cabinet in May 2025 after serving as Chair of the Audit Committee from her election in May 2024.

 

As the Street Scene and Green Spaces portfolio holder, Councillor Marshall leads on key Waste and Street Scene services that are integral to the quality of life of residents, as well as libraries, cultural services and outdoor spaces. Specific responsibilities include:

 

·       All matters relating to Waste Management, collection and recycling, including engagement with the BDR Waste Partnership.

·       Street Scene, Street Cleansing, Litter & Fly Tipping.

·       Household Waste Recycling Centres.

·       Cultural Services (and the Cultural Partnership), including libraries, neighbourhood hubs, heritage, theatre and arts, and Children’s Capital of Culture.

·       All matters relating to Leisure Services (including recreation, sport and the Leisure PFI.)

·       Development of an events programme in parks.

·       Green spaces, the Trees Service, and recreational facilities.

·       The former Levelling Up Fund investment projects in country parks.

·       All matters relating to Allotments (including liaison with the Rotherham Allotments Alliance).

·       Local Flood Authority duties, including Whiston, Laughton Common, Catcliffe and other flood prevention investments.

·       All matters relating to Highway Drainage (including septic tank and cesspool emptying).
